AudioControl Adds Monitor Audio to Sound Partners Program

AudioControl’s tailored DSP speaker profiles give integrators the vital tools to optimize system
performance while minimizing the time required to fine-tune each zone

Seattle, WA, February 16th, 2017 – AudioControl (audiocontrol.com), makers of innovative high performance audio solutions for the residential, commercial and automotive markets has announced that Monitor Audio has been added to their Sound Partners Program (SPP). The AudioControl SPP was established as a cooperative initiative with industry-leading architectural speaker manufacturers in order to implement optimized performance profiles as defined by each brand’s engineers. These
profiles, when stored in the DSP onboard the AudioControl Director™ M-Series of high-performance 8 and 16-channel amplifiers, creates the ultimate whole-house entertainment/commercial audio platform for professional integrators.

DSP profiles are now available for Monitor Audio CLG140 and CLG160 garden speakers and their recently unveiled IV140 in-wall/in-ceiling architectural speaker system. Integrators using both AudioControl DSP-enabled Director M-Series amplifiers with any of these Monitor Audio loudspeaker models will be able to take advantage of the profiles as well as the fine-tuning capabilities of these amplifiers to deliver a superlative entertainment experience for their clients. “We are excited to work with the team at Monitor Audio and welcome them as new members of our Sound Partners Program,” said AudioControl CEO Alex Camara. “The SPP provides professional integrators with the tools they need to differentiate themselves in a competitive market while delivering superb sound quality to their clients.”

AudioControl Director M-Series Amplifiers

The matrixing capabilities of the Director M-Series amplifiers allow any of eight analog or two digital inputs to be routed to any zone output. The 2U M-Series M6400 and M6800 includes two digital SPDIF inputs plus two SPDIF outputs that are tied to the matrix so that any one of the input sources can be routed through the digital outputs. These digital outputs can then be connected to the digital inputs on additional M-Series amplifiers, enabling integrators to use multiple amplifiers and assign input signal routing as needed. The Director M-Series now includes a 1U, 8-channel solution called the M4800 that is available now. All models are capable of 100 watts per channel at 8 Ohms, 200 watts at 4 Ohms and 400 watts bridged. M-Series amplifiers offer powerful DSP-based functionality along with AudioControl’s legendary sound quality, and can be used either as a standalone matrix-amplifier or as part of a 3rd party control system from companies including Crestron, Savant and Control 4. The AudioControl Director Model 4800 won the prestigious 2017 TechHome® Mark of Excellence Award presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA™), recognizing the best in custom integration and installed technology.

AudioControl Awarded Patent for Revolutionary AccuBASS® Technology

New intelligent bass compensation circuit available in a wide range of car and home products including the award-winning AudioControl DM-810 digital signal processor

Seattle, WA, November 17th, 2016 – AudioControl (audiocontrol.com), makers of innovative high-performance audio solutions for the residential, commercial and automotive markets has been awarded a patent (U.S. Patent # is 9,225,305) for their innovative AccuBASS technology for both automotive and home audio applications. AccuBASS technology has been designed to give listeners a highly accurate representation of the low frequency range (50 Hz to 125 Hz) of any recording and is featured in several AudioControl products including the newly launched DM-810, the latest in digital signal processing for OEM automotive sound systems, and a CTA Innovations Award Honoree.

(Left to Right) Chuck Winegar, Rob Riggs, Alex Camara, Chris Bennett

In the majority of factory installed automotive sound systems, bass content is automatically reduced by circuitry in the audio electronics as volume is increased by the listener to reduce stress on the speakers. The AccuBASS circuit is an unprecedented smart technology that has been designed to seamlessly apply bass compensation only when required in order to restore the bass to its proper level within the recording. This provides aftermarket car audio retailers with a system upgrade path while retaining the car’s factory radio and related audio electronics. The AccuBASS technology remains true to the bass content in the original recording, activating only when it senses that the bass in the factory system begins rolling off. As a result of this patented engineering achievement, listeners can now enjoy smooth, accurate bass response at all system volumes. AccuBASS technology can also be used in an “always on” mode to enhance the low frequency performance of any sound system, making this technology a versatile and highly valuable tool for any system designer/installer.

“AccuBASS brings AudioControl-engineered and patented dynamic bass compensation capability to our worldwide network of dealers, giving them an elegant solution to the challenge of bass-deficient factory car audio systems,” explained AudioControl CEO Alex Camara. “Now consumers can enjoy rich, dynamic bass the way artists intended as AudioControl makes AccuBASS available in a wide array of our car and home products,” Camara added.
