You might find yourself in a situation where you need to add a BLX-1K to a system that already has a BLD or BLR. In the event you need to replace one of those units, here’s how to hook add the BLX.
For both install scenarios, make sure you have a CAT-6 cable with an RJ-45 connector on the BLX side, and no connector on the other side.
BLX-1K to BLR-10
Run source audio signal to the RCA inputs of the BLX, and make sure the unit’s A/B switch is in the A position. Plug the RJ-45 side of the CAT-6 cable into the Balanced Input/Output port on the BLX, and run the wire to your BLR-10.
On the BLR side, use the Orange/White (+) and Orange (-) wires for, and Green/White (+) and Green (-) for the Channels 1 and 2 of the Balanced inputs. Then use RCAs to run audio out of the BLR.
BLD-10 to BLX-1K
Run the source audio signal to the RCA inputs of the BLD-10, connect the Blue/White (+) and Blue (-), and Brown/White (+) and Brown (-) of a CAT-6 cable for Channels 1 and 2 of the Balanced outputs.
Run the CAT-6 cable to your BLX and connect the RJ-45 to the Balanced Input/Output port. Make sure the BLX’s A/B switch is set to the A position, and use the RCA outputs to send audio out.
