BUYER / PLANNER

As part of AudioControl’s Operations team, this role will contribute to a number of different areas including sourcing, buying, warehousing, product development and planning. The role is an active part of the operations team, and will cover a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The successful applicant will work as a member of the operations team reporting to the Materials Supervisor. They will carry out daily responsibilities and project based work as directed.
  • Schedule the incoming materials into the warehouse in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
  • Responsible for the execution of material deliverables so that Production can achieve their daily, weekly and monthly goals.
  • Ensure best practices for the swift processing and tracking of RMA shipments to suppliers and vendors.
  • Promote and ensure best practices for effective inventory storage and consumption by Identifying, creating and implementing new processes to streamline operations with the engagement of the entire team.
  • Improve and maintain quality levels by establishing and enforcing organizational standards with vendors and the production team.
  • Identify and execute cost savings strategies in a quantifiable measure, to reduce material costs to the business.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Visit domestic suppliers and partners to improve and maintain quality, delivery standards, while reducing cost.
  • Promote positive culture in all aspects of the business.

MATERIALS SUPERVISOR

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The successful applicant will work as a leader of the Materials team reporting to the Director of Operations. They will carry out daily responsibilities and project based work as directed.
  • Oversee and schedule the incoming materials into the warehouse in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Production Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager to align efforts and deliver the best inventory strategy to support their plan and achieve company goals in both short and long term.
  • Improve and oversee the processing and tracking of RMA shipments for suppliers and vendors.
  • Reduce inbound freight and shipping costs for both domestic and international materials.
  • Identify and develop ERP system improvements to support the needs of the Operations team.
  • Promote and ensure best practices for effective inventory storage and consumption by Identifying, creating and implementing new processes to streamline operations with the engagement of the entire team.
  • Navigate complex international and domestic supply chains to reduce and eliminate tariffs, delivering the lowest landed cost possible, while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
  • Optimize material delivery schedules to increase inventory turns, while reducing cost and ensuring material availability.
  • Improve and maintain quality levels by establishing and enforcing organizational standards with vendors and the production team.

  • Receive, organize and stock incoming material, processing paperwork as necessary.
  • Organize material on the production floor to ensure best visibility, and point of use storage for efficient production consumption.
  • Process and track RMA shipments for both customers and suppliers
  • Ensure that material is stored in a way where it can easily be FIFOed (First in First out).
  • Perform cycle counts, and identify potential material shortages to the Purchasing team.
  • Ensure labels and locations are clearly identified for every material on the production floor.
  • Identify, sort, package and handle rejected material, and coordinate RMA shipments back to suppliers.
  • Aid with new employee training to go over material replenishment processes, and ensure that they are followed moving forward.
  • Manage red tag/Kanban system for identified materials.
  • Propose new ideas to improve the flow of material and overall production efficiency.
  • Pull and package material orders for customers, suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Assist across Operations with a variety of duties including Shipping and Receiving
  • Other duties as required across Operations and the wider AudioControl business.

THE JOB

  • You will be on the frontline taking calls and emails about our products
  • First on the phone, first to have a resolution for our customer or dealer
  • You will learn and become an expert on all our current products, while still being able to help a customer with a product from 30 years ago
  • Be able to identify and track potential tech issues in our products and properly document issues to our engineering team

TECH SUPPORT IS ONLY HALF THE JOB

  • You will be working closely with our regional sales reps, distributors and direct dealers to ensure their orders are shipped and arrive on time
  • You will also be working with the production and shipping team to coordinate orders and be able to overcome and figure out any obstacles in getting product out the door
  • You will be taking/entering/processing orders over the phone, email and from our website

YOU ARE

  • Willing and able to go above and beyond to take care of the customer
  • Highly knowledgeable in both audio and video tech supportPrior experience in home automation – Control 4, Savant, Creston, etc…
  • Ideal candidate will have prior experience in supporting audio/video products
  • You know the difference between an EQ and a crossover, know the difference between wiring a speaker in series or parallel and know how to properly gain stage
  • But you also know the difference between HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 and can explain the difference between Dolby PLII and Dolby digital
  • Have experience in troubleshooting HDMI issues
  • Have pride in your work and be willing to finish the job to the end
  • Must be able to adapt on the fly from tech call to tech call: **We receive a wide range of tech calls ranging from the novice user to the experienced installer in both Home and Audio environments**
  • Experience with ERP and customer management software a plus!

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Must be able to type 30 WPM
  • Must know your way around a computer, PC and Mac
  • Know how to install, update and troubleshoot software
  • Be able to learn new tasks and programs quickly
  • Must be able to multi-task! We cannot stress this enough!!
    • A big part of the job is being able to stay on top of multiple tech support issues, following up with customers while also staying on top of office work
  • Know your way around Microsoft office – Word, excel, outlook
  • Call management – know how to ascertain the customers problem quickly and efficiently and then offer the right solution
  • Car audio – a big portion of calls will be for our car audio product line – know your line converters, amplifiers and processors!
  • Prior IT and/or computer support experience a PLUS

SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER

As part of AudioControl’s engineering team, our senior design engineer plays a leading role in delivering new products to market. The role is an active part of the engineering team, actively designing and engineering new audio products for the home, pro and automotive markets, from definition through to manufacturing with minimal supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The successful applicant will work as part of the engineering team to define the scope and requirements of distinctive new products for a variety of channels and markets with a focus on ‘Making Good Sound Great’.
  • Deliver the product development goals of highest quality, innovative features, on time delivery and profitability for new products, product upgrades and updates.
  • Be part of AudioControl’s innovative engineering team, identifying and implementing new technologies that meet AudioControl’s product strategy as well as identifying trends in engineering that can help AudioControl gain competitive advantage in the market, improve our existing and new products and reduce product costs.
  • Help introduce best practices in engineering design documentation, manufacturing, and operations ensuring that products meet the high standards of engineering and manufacturing that AudioControl is known for in its markets, ensuring the quality and integrity of the product design and build is maintained from conception through manufacturing to the many years of trouble-free use by our customers.
  • Actively design, engineer and manage their own set of engineering projects, taking the lead on engineering design and delivery to ensure we meet our product roadmap goals and innovate for future growth.
  • Design audio processors, power amplifiers (Class-D as well as AB, G & H desired) and other products, including analog and digital circuitry. Tasks will include: mechanical design, circuit simulation, embedded code writing, schematic capture, PCB layout review, writing work instructions and assembly documentation, and supporting initial manufacturing.
  • Design to meet overall product requirements, document designs, and verification methods and results. Design for, and resolve issues arising with, thermal, EMC and agency requirements. Make significant contributions to feasibility and cost studies, project planning, verification plans, design specifications and design reviews.
  • Assist with product definition, manufacturing introduction support, validation testing, and ongoing sustaining engineering. Actively participate in peer reviews of designs, materials, and procedures.

SKILLS

  • Specific experience in engineering and developing a diverse range of audio products. Active hands-on involvement and experience in electrical engineering design and product conception and delivery, with responsibility for your own product projects is required.

  • Use of standard schematic capture, mechanical design, and circuit simulation programs. Familiarity with Pads Logic, Pads PCB, Altium and SolidWorks desired.
  • Hardware debugging, component level troubleshooting, familiarity with Audio Precision analyzers, oscilloscopes, AC power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, current probes, oscilloscopes, and all the other typical tools of the trade is a must.

  • BSEE (4-year degree) or equivalent.
