RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Talk to customers over the phone and via e-mail, provide support and resolution, act on questions, help our customers, be a ‘problem solver’!
  • Provide support across all our auto, pro, and home consumer electronic products via phone and email.
  • Take first-response calls to AudioControl and field them to the right department, expert, or team member.
  • Assist in the creation of content for internal and external technical training and support documentation.
  • Have an enthusiasm to learn our products and tackle more complex technical issues with our distributors, dealers, and end-users.
  • Support our external rep and dealer teams in helping them achieve their goals. Be able to travel and support our customers and team at trade shows and events as required.
  • Support the team and business with wide range of general administration activities that we must complete to keep the wheels turning throughout the office.
  • Work with our team on various other activities including social media, internet pricing review, customer information, product testing, training, trade show attendance and other growth opportunities.
  • Logging and maintaining customer records in Zendesk & SysPro.
  • Other duties as needed.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Our candidate will have a passion for audio and video.
  • They will have a background and be proficient in offering technical support across a wide range of products related to car, pro, and home electronics.
  • They will have excellent communication skills, have a strong customer service orientation, be a world-class problem-solver, have strong organization and planning skills and able to operate and have a high stress tolerance working in a fast moving, customer focused, dynamic culture!

      ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

      As part of AudioControl’s engineering team, our electrical engineer plays a leading role in delivering new products to market. The role is an active part of the engineering team, actively designing and engineering new audio products for the car audio, home, and pro markets, from definition through to manufacturing with minimal supervision.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • The successful applicant will work as part of the engineering team to define the scope and requirements of distinctive new products for a variety of channels and markets with a focus on ‘Making Good Sound Great’.
      • Deliver the product development goals of highest quality, innovative features, on time delivery and profitability for new products, product upgrades and updates.
      • Be part of AudioControl’s innovative engineering team, identifying and implementing new technologies that meet AudioControl’s product strategy as well as identifying trends in engineering that can help AudioControl gain competitive advantage in the market, improve our existing and new products, and reduce product costs.
      • Help to continually improve best practices in engineering design documentation, manufacturing, and operations ensuring that products meet the high standards of engineering and manufacturing that AudioControl is known for in its markets, ensuring the quality and integrity of the product design and build is maintained from conception through manufacturing to the many years of trouble-free use by our customers.
      • Actively design, engineer and manage their own set of engineering projects, taking the lead on engineering design and delivery to ensure we meet our product roadmap goals and innovate for future growth.
      • Design audio processors with DSP, signal amplification stages, preamp stages, and high speed digital circuits. Tasks will include: mechanical design, circuit simulation, embedded code writing, schematic capture, PCB layout review, writing work instructions and assembly documentation, and supporting initial manufacturing.
      • Design to meet overall product requirements, document designs, and verification methods and results. Design for, and resolve issues arising with, thermal, EMC and agency requirements. Make significant contributions to feasibility and cost studies, project planning, verification plans, design specifications and design reviews.
      • Assist with product definition, manufacturing introduction support, validation testing, and ongoing sustaining engineering. Actively participate in peer reviews of designs, materials, and procedures.

      ATTRIBUTES

      • A good understanding of the ‘audio/video world’ with experience in all aspects of audio electrical engineering and conversant and comfortable with analog, digital AV and current/future audio technology trends!

      SKILLS

      • Specific experience in engineering and developing a diverse range of audio products. Active hands-on involvement and experience in electrical engineering design and product conception and delivery, with responsibility for your own product projects is required.
      • Strong teamwork skills: Willing to support colleagues in technical, decision making, and other areas as necessary.
      • Use of standard schematic capture, mechanical design, and circuit simulation programs. Familiarity with Altium and SolidWorks desired.
      • Hardware debugging, component level troubleshooting, familiarity with Audio Precision analyzers, oscilloscopes, AC power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, current probes, oscilloscopes, and all the other typical tools of the trade is a must.
      • Use of MS Office (notably Word, Excel).
      • High standard of analytical skills for problem solving required.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills, for resolving technical issues.

      EDUCATION

      • BSEE (4-year degree) or equivalent.
      • 3+ years’ experience as a design engineer in analog and mixed signal electronics, with a strong preference for expertise in embedded systems

        MATERIALS INTERN

        As part of AudioControl’s Materials team, this role will contribute to a number of different areas including Purchasing, Receiving, Production and Shipping. The role is an active part of the operations team, which will include proposing ideas for improvements, defining and implementing processes as well as getting hands on operational experience.

        RESPONSIBILITIES

        • The successful applicant will work as part of the operations team to help create and define processes for purchasing, materials, and receiving.
        • Identify and sell obsolete materials no longer used in production.
        • Update vendor info records in NetSuite ERP system.
        • Help implement staff suggestions and lead kaizen events.
        • Conduct detailed review of components for cost and availability.
        • Review shipping and logistics operations to standardize process and reduce cost.
        • Help secure best pricing on components through quoting with new and existing suppliers.
        • Develop and implement data organization standards for key suppliers.
        • Review, identify and update materials safety stock levels.
        • Review vendor Open Order reports and update POs accordingly.
        • Update components in NetSuite with current market lead times.
        • Match and track freight bills to receivers.
        • Other duties as required.

          • Assist with production floor layout, material storage, signage and creation of new production lines.
          • Analyze, review and update current Return to Vendor process for non-conforming materials.
          • Update and maintain internal Kanban program for circuit boards.
          • Lead 5s and one piece flow trainings.
          • Perform detailed total cost analysis on current production processes compared to utilizing external manufacturing sources.
          • Create and maintain Standard Work Instructions for Materials/Receiving team.
