New Architect Model 1160 Sixteen Channel Amplifier Utilizes Compact Design
Mountlake Terrace, WA – Installers can never have too much rack space, which is why AudioControl proudly releases the new Architect Model 1160 sixteen-channel amplifier. This unique amplifier packs 16 channels of 60-watt robust Class H power into a mere three rack spaces, not four like most 16-channel amplifiers, giving installers a free rack space! The Architect Model 1160 has many valued AudioControl features like equalization control, Exclusive LightDrive Anti-clipping Protection Circuitry, and an optional Ethernet port for network connectivity, monitoring, and control.
"The new Architect Model 1160 squeezes 16 channels into only 3 rack spaces, so we decided to give the 4th away," offers Chris Kane, National Sales Manager for AudioControl. "System designers continually remind us that rack space is at a premium in today’s installs, and most 16-channel amplifiers require four. The new Architect Model 1160 uses a proprietary power supply that provides more than 60-watts per channel, when all channels are driven, yet fits into a smaller chassis. So, in essence, we’re giving the designers a free rack space."
The Architect Model 1160 has some tough shoes to fill, following the award-winning Architect Model 960. However, continuing the tradition of overwhelming power specs and improved installation versatility, AudioControl is confident that installers will rejoice over the new design.
Award-winning features, such as equalization for each channel pair, Exclusive LightDrive Anti-clipping and Protection Circuitry, and AudioControl’s Bulletproof Five-year Warranty carryover into the new Architect Model 1160. Improvements beyond the compact size include next-generation Ethernet control and monitoring (optional), simple bussed-input selection switch, local input with trigger activation, and signal-sense circuitry implemented after the user-controlled input level adjustment.
